On Tuesday, 2 June, 2026, Yolanda Jaramillo, a longtime acequia leader, former educator, and youth suicide prevention advocate from Dixon won election to be the Democratic nominee for New Mexico’s 41st State House district in November.

Statement by Earthworks Action Fund State Political Director Andrew Forkes-Gudmundson:

The people of House District 41 deserve a leader who knows that corporate greed should have no place in the Roundhouse. Yolanda will fight back against risks to public health and the environment and work to enact protections at every level of government.

“Hard earned tax dollars should go to make communities better, build good schools and roadways instead of cleaning up the oil and gas industry’s mess. The people of New Mexico should always come first. Yoland Jaramillo knows economic development can help all New Mexicans prosper without polluting precious air and water.”
